Affordable Access to Veterinary Prescription Consultations

MyVetScript was created to help pet owners access veterinary prescription consultations for ongoing, previously diagnosed conditions where medication may be required.

We understand that arranging repeat veterinary appointments can be inconvenient and costly, particularly when a condition has already been diagnosed and managed over a long period of time. At the same time, veterinary surgeons must ensure that any prescribing decision remains safe, appropriate and in the best interests of animal welfare.

MyVetScript provides a structured pathway for suitable cases to be reviewed and assessed through an online consultation process.

How It Works

1. Complete a short online eligibility questionnaire.
2. Where appropriate, clinical records are obtained from your registered veterinary practice.
3. A participating veterinary practice reviews the available information to determine whether a prescription consultation can be offered.
4. If suitable, you will be invited to book an online consultation with an RCVS-registered veterinary surgeon.
5. Following consultation, the veterinary surgeon will decide whether a prescription can be issued or whether further assessment is required.
6. Every case is assessed individually.

Responsible Veterinary Care

MyVetScript is not intended to replace routine veterinary care or emergency services.

The platform is designed for selected cases where sufficient clinical information is available to allow a veterinary surgeon to undertake an appropriate assessment.

All prescribing decisions remain entirely at the discretion of the attending veterinary surgeon, and no prescription is guaranteed.

Animal welfare, responsible prescribing and professional standards remain at the centre of every clinical decision.

MyVetScript has been developed by veterinary professionals with experience in first-opinion practice, clinical governance and remote veterinary services.

We understand both the practical challenges faced by pet owners and the professional responsibilities placed upon veterinary surgeons.

Our aim is to create a service that is accessible, transparent and focused on maintaining high clinical standards.

Participating Veterinary Practices

Consultations arranged through the MyVetScript platform are provided by appropriately qualified veterinary surgeons acting on behalf of participating RCVS-registered veterinary practices.

The identity of the veterinary practice responsible for providing your consultation will always be disclosed before booking and payment are completed.
